RECYCLING OF ACCEPTABLE MATERIALS BC
Recycle in a reusable yellow bin or bag or cart on the sidewalk
Paper
PAPER
Paper is recycled into new paper products, cardboard, drywall paper siding, molded paper egg cartons, and insulation.

- Magazines and catalogs
- Phonebooks and other directories
- Paper for writing and home office, envelopes and notepads
- Wrapping paper and cards
- Single-use paper party decorations (e.g. paper flags, paper balloons and decorations, etc.)
- Shredded paper (if your community separates bins and paper into different bins or collection bags, place the shredded paper collection in a paper bag or small box and place it in your trash/paper bag; if your community collects paper and bins in the same bin, put shredded paper in a clear plastic bag and put it in your bin)

PAPER AND CARDBOARD PACKAGING
Paper packaging is recycled into new boxes, paper towels, tissue paper, paper-based pots, drywall liner paper, Kraft paper, brown paper products, including paper towels.

- Corrugated cardboard boxes used for shipping, grocery store and liquor store boxes, pizza boxes, moving boxes and bank boxes
- Cardboard and cardboard boxes used for cereal, shoes, tissue, pizza, frozen dishes, desserts, detergent, etc.
- Cardboard packaging for cannabis products
- Conveyor trays for bulk water bottles, soft drinks, cans, food, etc.
- Paper towel and toilet paper cores
- Molded carton packaging for egg cartons, takeaway drink trays, paper based flower pots
- Paper gift bags and boxes
- Paper bags (also called Kraft paper) and envelopes
- Multilayer paper bags for flour, sugar, etc.
- Compressed paper hangers included with clothes.

Plastic is recycled into new packaging, rolls, rope, brush bristles, car bumpers, home furnishings, decks, picnic tables, lounge chairs and garden items.

- Screw cap plastic bottles used for cooking oil, washing powder and fabric softener, cleaning solutions, cleaning products, body care products, windshield washer fluid, etc.
- Screw cap plastic bottles, spray pump or removable caps for food, dishwasher, mouthwashes, shampoos, conditioners and other personal care products, pills and vitamins, laundry products, etc.
- Wide Mouth Screw Cap Plastic Jars for Peanut Butter, Jelly, Nuts, Condiments, Vitamins & Supplements, Personal Care Products, etc.
- Plastic containers for cannabis products.
- Plastic containers with hinged or click-close lids for bakery products, fruit, vegetables, eggs, etc.
- Plastic trays with black bottom and transparent cover for cold cuts, individual dishes, ready meals, roasts
- Plastic containers and lids for foods such as margarine and spreads, dairy products such as yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, ice cream, etc.
- Plastic cold drink cups with lid for takeaway drinks
- Garden pots and plastic trays for garden plants, seedlings, vegetables, etc.
- Plastic buckets of less than 25L for washing powder, ice cream, pet food, etc.
- Microwave-safe bowls and mugs
- empty single-use coffee and tea capsules; remove caps and do not include caps with recycling
- Rigid plastic containers for toys, toothbrushes, batteries, etc.; remove protective paper and recycle separately

Glass bottles and jars are recycled into new glass containers, fiberglass insulation, reflective signage paint, blast media and construction aggregates.
